Apple Maps will allow owners to add information themselves

When Tim Cook had apologized for the Apple map in 2012, he promised to make every effort to make Apple Maps software better. The company’s latest navigation app improvements will allow small businesses to add information and display it on Apple Maps, which means that owners can provide their own help through a new portal called Maps Connection. The service allows owners to add or edit their own organization's location and gives them the opportunity to enhance their profile on corporate websites such as Yelp sites, Facebook or Twitter pages. They can even register the company's indoor tracking technology installed on the page.
Whether this initial crowdsourcing effort can make Apple Map better. Google believes that crowdsourcing can improve its own applications, so it acquired Waze. We would not be surprised if Apple also launched other similar projects. Currently Apple's map connections are only open to people now in the United States, but the company promises to open up to more countries in the future.
