According to the data released by the National Development and Reform Commission on May 20, from January to April, China's petrochemical industry realized an output value of 2,951.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 34%, which is equal to the growth rate of the previous year. In the first four months of this year, the average growth rate of petrochemical industry's industrial added value was about 13.3%, which was 0.4 percentage points lower than the growth rate of last year.
The data also shows that since the high price of crude oil has been promoted this year, the total price of petrochemical industry has risen steadily. In April, the industry product sales rate was 98.4%, which was the same as that of the same period of last year. The balance of production and sales was basically balanced. Among the petrochemical products that were tracked, the prices of products that were flat and increased year-on-year were more than 90%. Among them, the average price of caustic soda rose by 10%, sulfuric acid rose by 7%, calcium carbide rose by 2%, toluene rose by 8.6%, paraxylene rose by 3.1%, methanol rose by 4.9%, PVC rose by 3%, and styrene-butadiene rubber rose by 5.2%.
