Luo Luo received 2 packaged stern trawlers

Recently, Spain's Freire shipyard has received orders to build two stern trawlers designed by Rolls-Royce. It is reported that both ship owners are from Greenland, one of which was built by Qajaq Trawl and the other was built by Polar Seafood.

The two fishing boats are designed to be used for shrimp catching. The new vessel will be equipped with various equipments from Rolls-Royce. The design and equipment package will provide the fishing boat with the advantages of efficient operation, low pollution discharge, comfortable and safe crew, and excellent positioning at sea.

Monrad Hide, vice president of sales at Rolls-Royce, said, â€œWe have a long history of cooperation with two shipowners and we have designed a number of fishing boats that can operate in inclement weather.â€

In addition to the design, Rolls-Royce's equipment package includes engines, propulsion systems, automation systems, deck machinery and power systems. The main engine of the two fishing boats is the 9-cylinder Bergen B33:45 engine.

Promas will provide propulsion systems for two fishing vessels. The propulsion system integrates the propeller, hubcap, rudder ball and rudder itself with a hydrodynamic active unit. A hybrid shaft generator (HSG) will also be installed on the trawler.

On the deck, a low pressure hydraulic winch system with an electric drive assisted winch will be installed. In harsh climates, the dynamic winch will keep the trawler in the best position to improve fishing efficiency and reduce wear on the equipment.

It is reported that the new ship adopts the NVC 375 design and is about 80 meters long. The hull has the DNV GL classification society 1A* class fishing boat symbol, which is expected to be delivered in 2018 and 2019.

Since the early 1970s, Rolls-Royce has designed approximately 150 NVC-type fishing vessels. The company currently holds orders for seven fishing boats and two live fish carriers.
