It is reported that the subject of the "Green Tire Industry Research" undertaken by the association has passed the demonstration. In the next step, the "Green Tire Industry Self-discipline Standard" will be formulated, the "Green Tire Enterprise Voluntary Statement System Implementation Measures" will be drafted, and the "Green Tire Technology" will be established. Support centers, etc. will promote these standards systems to become mandatory national standards.
According to reports, in February 2012, the Department of Raw Materials of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology entrusted the China Rubber Industry Association to formulate China's "green tires" self-discipline and non-compulsory tire labeling grading methods. By the end of 2013, relevant standards and regulations will be introduced and will be accelerated. The “Green Tire†industry self-discipline standards have been upgraded to industry standards and national standards, and voluntary mandatory steps have been adopted. It is expected that the “Green Tire†compulsory classification labeling legislation will be implemented by 2017. Among them, in the non-compulsory grading stage, by 2015, 50% of tire companies will strive to have "green tires" production capacity.
The tire label is another important labeling system implemented after the energy-saving label for household appliances to promote energy conservation and emission reduction. It will promote the relevant government agencies to adopt a subsidy policy similar to that of home appliances and energy-saving vehicles, and carry out classified subsidies according to different levels of energy efficiency.
In addition to the European Union, the United States, Japan, and South Korea also basically adopt a voluntary, post-mandatory labeling system. China's “Green Tire Label†bill is a reference to the EU labelling system.
Upgrade technology
The EU Tire Labeling Act was formally implemented on November 1, 2012. The EU is the largest export market for Chinese tires. The implementation of the EU labeling law is a huge test for the Chinese tire industry.
It is reported that the EU “Green Tire†mandatory labeling act is divided into two phases. At present, most semi-steel tires in China can meet the EU's first phase standard, and 30% of all steel tires cannot be satisfied; in addition, most semi-steel tires in China are Not reach the EU second-stage standard, 70% of all steel tires can not reach the second-stage standard.
According to statistics from the Kunshan Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, in the first quarter of 2013, 1,464 batches of tires were exported from Kunshan, amounting to USD 11,213 million, a year-on-year decrease of 1.9%, a decrease of 22.8%, and export of EU tires amounting to USD 13,920,000, a decrease of 35.7% year-on-year.
Under the pressure of internal and external label regulations, tire companies have to carry out technical upgrading to respond.

The National Rubber and Tyre Engineering Technology Research Center Wang Mengxi team developed a new material.
