The accident site was located on Gongcha Expressway. A pickup truck collided with a BYD sedan. According to an eyewitness on the scene, he was also on the road at that time. He only heard a sudden braking followed by a collision of objects. Looking in the direction of the sound, he saw a car accident in front of the car. With the splinters of the car shell spattering, he stopped the car twenty to thirty meters from the scene. Several passing vehicles also stopped. Everyone ran to the scene of the accident and found that there were injured people in both vehicles. Everyone first rescued the injured pickup truck, and then discovered that the back door of the pick-up truck was deformed and someone was trapped inside. They found a rope, tied it to the back door of the pickup truck, and pulled the back door open together to rescue the trapped. At the same time, several people on the passing vehicles went to help people in the cars get out of danger, but they found that the cars were seriously deformed. Unarmed people could not rescue the trapped people. Some people on the scene began to call for rescue.

All three victims are female

At 15:18, Hainan State Fire Brigade Rescue Officer arrived at the scene of the accident and saw that the driver of the sedan was not injured. He was anxiously waiting for the rescue officer and there were four people trapped inside the sedan, followed by 120 ambulances. After arriving, it was confirmed that the other 2 trapped people in the sedan had no vital signs because they were on the highway. In order to rescue the trapped people as soon as possible, the traffic police department designated the warning zone, pulled up the warning zone, and carried traffic to the passing vehicles. After the 40-minute rescue, the trapped were finally rescued. A total of three injured passengers and two victims were sent to the hospital immediately. Unfortunately, one of the injured was also killed on the way to the hospital. The entire traffic accident caused a total of three deaths and two injuries, and all three victims were female.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
