Vietnam and the steel mill covers an area of ​​372.7 hectares with a total investment of VND 60 trillion (about US$2.65 billion) and is expected to be completed within four years. The project has an annual production capacity of 4 million tons of steel (including construction steel and rolled steel). The construction period is divided into two phases. The first phase has an annual production capacity of 1 million tons of construction steel and 1 million tons of high-quality rolled steel; the second stage has a designed capacity of 2 million tons of hot-rolled flat steel for machinery manufacturing. After the project is put into production, the annual income of the Hefa Group is expected to reach 2 billion US dollars, contributing 4 trillion VND to Vietnam's finances and 8,000 jobs for the local. The project has a 50-year operation period and is part of the plan approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam from 2016 to 2020 and for the development of a steel production and sales network in 2025.
