(hereinafter referred to as Jinan Power) for its supporting engine was officially established today. The heavy-duty truck engine production line of "Trucks" was officially put into operation. It is reported that Jinan Power is the former Zhangqiu Engine Production Base secretly planned by CNHTC.
The Chairman of CNHTC Group Ma Chunji stated that Jinan Power is a production base specializing in the production of engines with nearly 1 billion yuan invested by CNHTC. It covers an area of ​​245 acres, and has a joint workshop area of ​​50,000 square meters and an annual production design capacity of 100,000 engines. Currently, there are two series of Steyr and HOWO. Their powers are 266-horsepower, 290-horsepower, 336-horsepower, 371-horsepower and 410-horsepower five-speed, and they have reached the Euro II emission standard.
At this point, the CNHTC Group already has two engine production bases in Hangzhou and Zhangqiu, all of which produce the "Shouqipai" engine. Heavy truck Group Hangzhou Engine Factory monthly output exceeded 5,000 units in March, reaching 5,102 units; Jinan Power achieved production capacity of 2,000 units in the first two months of trial production. According to the deployment of the CNHTC Group this year, the engine production pattern will be formed mainly by the Hangzhou plant and supplemented by Zhangqiu, which is expected to fully meet its production targets for this year.
However, according to industry sources, the establishment of Jinan Power is by no means simple. Previously, CNHTC's engine components have been supplied by its subsidiary Weichai Engine Factory, which produces about 50,000 units a year.
After the separation with China National Heavy Duty Truck Group in March this year, Weichai completely stopped selling its engines to it. The reason why CNHTC is able to “change†is because the Zhangqiu engine production base has been secretly started.
Another well-informed source stated that the negotiations between VOVLO and CNHTC on engine projects were bankruptcy and related to the startup of Zhangqiu Engine Factory. When VOLVO executives discovered that CNHTC has quietly built a wholly-owned engine base, they believe that its cooperation with VOVLO is clearly not sincere.
