One year later, on December 18, 2006, a new generation of 13-liter heavy-duty truck engine prototype jointly developed by Dongfeng and Cummins Corporation was successfully ignited at the Cummins Technology Center of the Cummins headquarters in the United States. The ISZ13 litre has attracted much attention since its birth. In the past nine years, it has attracted a group of users who have become Dongkang loyal users. Therefore, under this background, Dongfeng Cummins ISZ Engine, the first electronically controlled engine in China that fully possesses independent intellectual property rights, satisfies the country's four emissions and has a displacement of 13 liters, has received a lot of attention from the beginning of the plan.

The ISZ 13-liter engine is based on the Cummins product platform development. It is developed through the Cummins East Asia Research and Development Center. It is powered by Cummins Global R&D Network. It is equipped with Cummins XPI fuel injection system and is fully synchronized with existing European and American products. After the Dongfeng Cummins ISZ 13-liter engine was mass-produced, it passed over 30,000 hours of operation tests and more than 20,000 hours of effective bench tests. 2013 to 2014
From August 15th to September 28th, the experimental team set off from Liyang and passed Xi'an, Lanzhou, Hami, Turpan, Dunhuang, Golmud, Xining and other places. It passed through five provinces and regions: Henan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Xinjiang, and Qinghai. It lasted one and a half months. The journey was 11,566 kilometers, and the first engine was calibrated under the plateau dry heat test conditions and the post-treatment system tests were completed.
Through special software, various parameters of the engine ECM are recorded, and data collected at various positions on the engine are recorded using a data acquisition instrument to achieve simultaneous recording and mutual verification. The performance of the ISZ engine in the plateau and dry heat environment is verified. The calibration of the engine's working conditions and changes in various parameters.

From December 11, 2013 to March 21, 2014, Dongfeng Cummins dispatched an ISZ engine test team to Heihe to conduct a cold area test. The test team completed the cold environment adaptability test and new product performance verification.
