China Industry 4.0 Process Report released

[China Instrument Network Policy and Regulations] On December 16th in Shanghai, the “MIC Made in China 1000” conference, the organizers of the Industry 4.0 Association and zd top network jointly issued the first edition of China’s “Industry 4.0 Process Report”. The status, challenges and inherent characteristics of China's manufacturing industry in the face of industrial changes were presented for the first time, providing valuable reference for Chinese industry practitioners. Below, first come to understand the background of Industry 4.0.

The concept of “Industry 4.0” was introduced by Germany at the Hanover Fair in 2013. This concept ignited the importance of the manufacturing return strategy in major economies. However, Germany's "Industry 4.0" strategy is not alone. Global major economies have successively launched similar industrial emerging strategic plans. Among them, the typical "Industrial Internet" in the United States and "Made in China 2025" in China. As the release of demographic dividend is basically over, the advantage of cheap labor in China is gradually disappearing. How to change the mode of production, from labor-intensive to technology-intensive, from processing-type to innovation-based, from the bottom of the smile curve to the peak, is There is an unavoidable issue facing the Chinese government and enterprises. The achievements made by the integration of efficient production, informatization, and industrialization of German and American companies have seen many Chinese companies see the direction of future development. It is because of the forward-looking nature of the “Industry 4.0” strategy and its leading role in the manufacturing industry in the future that it has aroused great concern and recognition from the entire Chinese industrial enterprise.

Like any new thing or new concept, our manufacturing companies have experienced curiosity, contact, understanding, absorption, and trials in the “Industry 4.0” strategy in a short span of two years (2013-2015). To practice exploration. Each company has its own special circumstances, such as the industry in which the company is located, the cash flow, the vision of the decision makers, the support of the government, and so on, which may cause our company to show different in the face of “Industry 4.0”. Reaction and status.

From the perspective of the company itself, the positive decision made by our company in the face of “Industry 4.0” will greatly enhance the competitiveness of the company in the future market. From a national perspective, the strategic decisions and guidance made by our manufacturing industry in the face of “Industry 4.0” will profoundly affect the competitiveness between countries. Therefore, conducting regular scans and self-examination of our manufacturing industries will help us to make appropriate strategic layouts and responses at different levels.

Has China's manufacturing revolution begun? What is the starting point? What is the status quo? What are the challenges facing companies? This series of issues is urgently needed for the industry to understand. As a result, the first domestic third-party organization to promote the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry in the Internet era, the China Manufacture 1000 Association (abbreviation: MIC1000), launched the survey, the Joint Industry 4.0 Association and ZD Top Network, released China's first edition of the "Industry 4.0 Process Report". The survey began on September 10, 2015 and lasted for three months. The scope involved 12 manufacturing developed provinces and cities (including Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Shenzhen, Beijing, etc.), a total of 22 manufacturing sub-sectors . Through this report, it reveals some of the lesser-known important information in the current process of China's manufacturing transformation, including:

More than half of the companies already have a comprehensive understanding of the overall concept of Industry 4.0: 31.13% of them believe that Industry 4.0 is a new round of technological change, and 22.87% of companies believe that it will be inevitable for the industry crisis. The trend of transformation. Among them, the most recognized characteristics of Industry 4.0, the most selected first four options are intelligent (16.78%), digitized (13.82%), interconnected (12.83%), and materialized (12.41%), showing China The awareness of the manufacturing industry for Industry 4.0 has reached a good level. It can be said that intelligence is the highest realm pursued by the manufacturing industry, and it is also the most difficult to achieve and maximize the investment. From the roadmap of technology implementation, digitalization, interconnection, and materialization are the first steps. Large integration is the second step, followed by intelligence.

In the current progress of Industry 4.0, the government's performance in the overall latitude has been the lowest, which is somewhat unexpected: only 3.34% of companies believe that because of the government's promotion, there has been advancement of Industry 4.0; 22.37% Enterprises believe that the promotion of technological innovation shows that Chinese companies are paying more and more attention to technological innovation; the next most important factor is the pressure on production costs, which accounts for 20.05%; the enterprises that choose to use intelligent products account for 18.51%, showing strong corporate self-promotion. The new business model challenges also accounted for 16.71% of the proportion, becoming one of the important driving forces. This shows that Chinese companies are constantly making progress in innovation. Innovation is not only reflected in technological innovation, but also in the business model. More and more cases.

Many companies already recognize the vision of “Industry 4.0” and actively participate in the process of practice. At present, over 75% of companies are starting or are preparing to start the input of Industry 4.0: Survey shows that companies that have already begun to invest in Industry 4.0 account for To 43.92%, companies that started to invest in the next three years accounted for 32.43%, and only 14.86% did not consider it. This shows that Chinese companies are active in Industry 4.0, which is in line with the performance of the company itself. There are many mentalities to face a new technological revolution and there are gains and losses while waiting. The model for striving for competitiveness may be between one idea and another. The first person who ate crabs suffered from failures and also accumulated unsurpassed distances.

Automation and smart devices are the foundation for achieving "Industry 4.0". The upgrading of "Industry 4.0" must be based on the structure of automation. This point has been recognized by most companies. Among them, 17.14% of companies choose to update their internal production facilities, strengthen automation and intelligence, 16.43% of companies choose to upgrade MES/ERP software systems, and in the industry 4.0 the most critical big data, digital, Internet of things, cloud manufacturing, etc. The relatively few companies invested were only 7.04%, 6.34%, 6.10%, and 5.87%, respectively, showing the gradual and abrupt change of Chinese companies in the industrial 4.0 field. Cloud manufacturing and big data need the cooperation and precipitation of the overall industry, and it is still in the early stage of exploration.

Just as technological innovation is the most important factor in the promotion of “Industry 4.0” by enterprises, talents, innovations and standards have become a barrier to the development of “Industry 4.0”. The talent and R&D innovation capability is a huge challenge for China's Industry 4.0 process: Another reason why most companies’ existing platform upgrades have evolved to Industry 4.0 is due to the new challenges that Industry 4.0 itself brings to companies, of which the most important ones are three. Challenges include lack of talent (20.75%), weak R&D and innovation capabilities (19.34%) and lack of standardization (18.4%). In addition, there is no successful experience for reference. The awareness of business leaders and the pressure for funding for change are all given to China. The industry's Industry 4.0 process has brought challenges and resistance. Therefore, in order to effectively promote the "Industry 4.0" process, it is necessary to formulate relevant standardization roadmaps to guide the industry as a whole in the standardization field.

"This report can be said to be a current stage map and portrait of the upgrading of China's manufacturing industry." The drafter of the "Report", the founder of the China Thousand Communities Association, and Chairman of the Industry 4.0 Association Wang Qingyue said, "We I am very pleased to see that the enthusiasm and spontaneity of Chinese companies in the process of their transition to Industry 4.0 has not even lag behind that of the Western developed countries in certain aspects.Of course, this report clearly shows that Chinese companies are facing Difficulties and challenges, which provide references for relevant industry practitioners, and also point the way for the future work of the Industry 4.0 Association."

The complete report is in the attachment.
